8 Days Lemosho Route

0

The Lemosho route is one of the newer routes on Mount Kilimanjaro. The route begins in the West and rather than simply intersecting Shira Plateau (like Machame), Lemosho crosses it from Shira Ridge to Shira Camp. Climbers encounter low traffic until the route joins the Machame route. Afterwards, Lemosho follows the same route through Lava Tower, Barranco and Barafu, known as the Southern circuit.

The minimum number of days required for this route is six days, although eight days is ideal.

Lemosho is considered the most beautiful route on Kilimanjaro and grants panoramic vistas on various sides of the mountain. It is our favorite route because it offers a great balance of low traffic, scenic views and a high summit success rate. Thus, Lemosho comes highly recommended. Most of our clients use Lemosho.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive day in Arusha at Kilimanjaro International Airport

Arrive anytime at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). We will arrange a private transfer from Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) to Arusha where the rest of the day is at leisure.
We will gather in the hotel where you’ll have an overnight for a pre-climb briefing and an equipment check.
We will also confirm you have the appropriate mandatory medical coverage and travel insurance

A few short years ago this was a seldom used route. Now Lemosho 8 days has become our most requested itinerary. It is popular for good reason though since with 8 days the acclimatization is very good and it is a scenic route. We expect the Grand Traverse route to alleviate some of the crowd that this route has drawn.

Day 2: Hotel – Londorossi Gate (2360m) – Mti Mkubwa Camp (2810m)

Your day starts early with a breakfast from the hotel, followed by a briefing by your head guide and then a 2-hour drive from the hotel (910m) to Londorossi Park Gate (2360m). The guides and porters prepare and pack the supplies and your equipment at the park’s gate and registration. You start trekking through the Rain-Forest.
